Nikro Duct Sealing & Repair: The San Antonio Owner’s Guide
If you own a Nikro duct sealing system in San Antonio and it’s not holding pressure, leaking sealant, or cycling on and off without reason, we can usually get the right replacement part matched and installed the same week. Typical Nikro duct sealing and repair work in our area runs between $240 and $680, depending on whether we’re replacing a port fitting, a hose assembly, or the main sealant pump. Most San Antonio homeowners call us after a failed duct test shows leakage in a stretch of flex duct they can’t physically reach, and that’s exactly the kind of repair we do several times a month.
We’re an independent service provider and not affiliated with Nikro, but we keep OEM-compatible sealing components and hardware on hand in our San Antonio shop. If you’re not sure what failed or which model you have, don’t hunt for part numbers alone. That’s what we walk through with you on the phone, and Paul Adeyemi will ask for the model plate before anything gets ordered.
Which Nikro Models This Applies To
Nikro aerosol duct sealing equipment is used across several of their commercial and residential lines, including the older SP-series sealers and the current generation of portable sealing machines paired with heated sealant canisters. The part that gives out first varies by model, but it’s rarely the blower. On most Nikro sealers we see in San Antonio homes, the failure sits in one of three areas: the sealant pickup line, the quick-connect ports, or the pressure transducer that tells the machine when the duct run is sealed.
The compatibility gotcha owners miss: Nikro sealers are not universal. The port threading and canister collar changed from the early 2010s to the current generation, so a port assembly from a 2013 model will not seat properly on a newer machine. Before we order anything, we match the model plate code, the year of manufacture, and a quick measurement of the port OD. If you’d rather run a quality aftermarket equivalent instead of OEM, we can do that in many cases, and we’ll tell you plainly if the aftermarket part won’t hold up the same way in Texas heat. Sealant gaskets and pickup tubing heat-cycle hard here in San Antonio, and that’s usually the first thing to crack.
We also stock parts for Lennox, Trane, and Carrier systems, so if the Nikro sealer is the diagnosis and the issue actually traces back to a duct component from another brand, we’re not sending you to three different suppliers. We handle the repair as one job.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Nikro Duct Sealing & Repair Is Failing
- Sealant misting out around the canister lid instead of inside the duct run. The lid gasket has flattened from heat cycling, and the machine is losing pressure into the room instead of the ductwork. We see this on SealMaster units that have sat in a hot San Antonio garage for a season.
- Pressure gauge climbs, then drops without fogging the ductwork. The pickup line has a hairline crack or a loose quick-connect. The sealer is pulling air along with the sealant, and the air collapses the seal before it can set.
- Machine runs but the digital readout shows a pressure error code. On newer Nikro models the transducer reads low when sealant has backed up into the sensor line. Left alone, this ruins the sensor and doubles the repair bill.
- No sealant at all reaching the wand, but the pump sounds normal. A collapsed O-ring in the canister dip tube. It’s a small part, but it strands the whole job until it’s swapped.
- Audible hiss anywhere along the supply hose under pressure. A barb fitting has backed out from vibration. It’s tempting to crank the fitting tighter, but if it’s compromised, over-tightening splits the plastic.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In San Antonio, you should expect to pay real, whole-job pricing that covers the diagnosis, the part, and the labor. Here’s how it breaks down:
| Repair type | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Single port or O-ring swap | $240 – $390 |
| Pickup line and quick-connect replacement | $310 – $480 |
| Pressure transducer replacement (OEM) | $420 – $680 |
| Heat-cracked gasket set and canister re-seal | $280 – $440 |
What drives the spread is the part version and whether the machine needs a full recalibration after the fix. We give you a written price before any work starts, the part is on the invoice at our cost, and the seal repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the same leak returns inside a year, we fix it without charging you for the second visit. That’s not a coupon. That’s how we’ve done Nikro work since Paul Adeyemi first brought this service line to Morton’s Air Duct San Antonio.
DIY or Call Us?
What’s safe to check on your own: the canister lid for obvious cracks, the integrity of the visible hose, and the part number on the model plate. What’s not safe: opening the sealant circuit while the machine is under pressure, especially on models running heated canisters. You’re handling a pressurized adhesive at temperature, and the failure mode is a hot mist in your face. We say this plainly because Paul and his crew have seen several San Antonio homeowners try to fudge a port fitting and end up with a sealed garage and a burnt pump motor.
Letting us do it means we come out, we walk every line and fitting with you, and we tell you exactly what we’re doing and exactly what it costs before we start. If you want to talk through what you’re seeing first, call us at (903) 354-8393 and we’ll help you read the symptoms over the phone.
FAQs
How long does a Nikro duct sealing machine last in San Antonio before parts fail?
A well-maintained Nikro sealer can run 6 to 9 years before the first significant part failure, but our Texas heat usually claims gaskets and pickup lines by year 3 or 4 when the machine lives in an unconditioned garage. Heat isn’t kind to the soft goods.
Can a leaking Nikro part be repaired instead of replaced?
Sometimes. A collapsed O-ring or a loose quick-connect can often be repaired in place for under $150. A split transducer line or a heat-cracked canister collar usually needs the whole part replaced. We’ll tell you which one you’ve got and we won’t sell you a replacement if a repair does the job.
How long does a typical Nikro duct sealing repair take?
Most parts replacements are done in under two hours on site. A transducer replacement with full recalibration can run closer to three, and we’ll tell you that before we schedule so nobody’s day gets rearranged mid-visit.
Do you actually stock Nikro parts, or do you have to order them?
We keep the common-wear items on hand in San Antonio: O-ring sets, pickup lines, quick-connects, and gasket kits. Model-specific parts like a transducer or a canister collar we order to match your machine’s plate, which usually lands within a few business days. Call (903) 354-8393 and we’ll tell you right then whether your part is on the shelf.
