Why San Antonio Homeowners Choose Lennox Air Duct Cleaning

We provide independent air duct cleaning service for Lennox systems across San Antonio, focused on how these systems actually move air through Hill Country dust, cedar pollen, and long cooling seasons. Lennox variable-speed systems like the XC25 and XP25 pull air differently than single-stage units, and that difference changes how ducts load up, where debris settles, and what a cleaning has to accomplish to actually restore airflow. If you own a Lennox system in San Antonio and the airflow has dropped off or the dust returns a week after cleaning, call (903) 354-8393. We’re an independent service provider, not a Lennox dealer or authorized warranty center, which means we answer to you, not to the manufacturer.

Call (903) 354-8393

What makes our Lennox work different is simple: we treat the duct system as part of the equipment, not as an afterthought. Paul Adeyemi and our crew map how air moves through your specific Lennox setup before we touch a vent. We’ve cleaned ducts on everything from Merit 13ACX splits in 1970s ranch homes off Bandera Road to Dave Lennox Signature Collection XC25 systems in newer Stone Oak two-story builds, and we also handle Lennox in Boerne. The equipment changes. The dust does too. The approach has to account for both.

Why Trust Mortons Air Duct San Antonio for Your Lennox Air Duct Cleaning?

Lennox systems are not all the same, and a crew that treats them that way will miss things. The variable-capacity blowers on an XC25 or XP25 ramp up and down over long cycles. When they run on low stage for hours, air moves slowly through the ducts. That slow air deposits finer particles in places a single-stage blower would blow right past. We know where to look because we’ve pulled apart enough San Antonio Lennox service calls to know the pattern. The takeoff collars on flex runs, the return drops, the plenum insulation. Those are the places that tell you how the system has actually been living.

We use OEM Lennox-compatible media and gaskets when they’re available, because filter fit and cabinet sealing matter on these units. But we don’t blindly install any part just because it says Lennox on the box. For flex duct, mastic, and takeoff collars, we buy commercial sheet-metal and R-8 flex from local San Antonio supply houses. The reason is straightforward: the duct system on a San Antonio Lennox install lives in a hotter, dustier attic than the equipment was tested for, and the aftermarket options for that environment are often built better than the original. We’ll tell you which one makes sense for your system and why, before any money changes hands.

Paul grew up in Los Angeles and learned HVAC and mechanical fundamentals at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before making his way to Texas. He and the crew have been cleaning ducts across San Antonio for several years now, and Paul still walks every vent location with the homeowner before a single tool comes off the truck. It’s a habit that keeps everyone honest. We tell you exactly what we’re doing, and exactly what it costs, before we start.

Common Lennox Air Duct Cleaning Problems We Fix in San Antonio

Lennox builds good equipment. But every system interacts with the house it’s installed in, and San Antonio houses throw specific problems at these units. Here are the ones we see most often on Lennox systems across the city.

  • Flex duct runs pulling loose at takeoffs on XC25 and XP25 variable-speed units. The variable-speed blower changes static pressure continuously. Over years of long low-stage cooling cycles through San Antonio summers, flex duct at the takeoff collars can work loose. When that happens, the system pulls attic air, fiberglass, and cedar pollen directly into the supply side. We saw this exact failure at a two-story Alamo Heights home with an XC25 and an SLP98V in the attic. The main trunk flex run had slipped off a takeoff collar and was pulling fiberglass and cedar pollen straight into the supply side. We pulled the run, replaced the collar with a new takeoff, sealed all seams with water-based mastic, then cleaned and video-inspected both supplies and returns. Final static before and after the new filter slot showed the blower pulling rated CFM again without whining.
  • Oversized Merit 13ACX and 14ACX systems short-cycling and leaving return ducts loaded with dust. A lot of older San Antonio ranch homes got oversized Merit splits installed back when installers sized equipment by rule of thumb. An oversized single-stage AC cools the house fast, then shuts off. The blower never runs long enough to move air through the entire duct system. Return ducts especially accumulate a thick, gray, sticky film. When we clean these, the homeowner often notices the system runs longer and the house smells different. The dust wasn’t in the equipment. It was in the network feeding it.
  • Elite EL296V secondary heat exchanger condensation making return plenum insulation damp and sticky. The EL296V is a condensing furnace, and in San Antonio’s humidity, the secondary heat exchanger produces a lot of condensate. If the drain isn’t pitched perfectly or the plenum insulation isn’t sealed, that moisture wicks into the return plenum. The insulation gets damp, then sticky, then starts holding dust. The duct cleaning has to address the moisture source first or the problem comes back within a season. This is a case where cleaning alone isn’t the fix. It’s cleaning plus sealing plus correcting the drain issue.
  • Signature SLP98V return drops collapsing under negative pressure when filter slots are over-restricted. The SLP98V modulating furnace can pull strong negative pressure on the return side, especially if the homeowner installs a high-MERV filter in a slot that wasn’t designed for it. We’ve seen return drops flex inward, the duct actually deforming under suction. When that happens, the system pulls air from wherever it can. Sealing the return and correcting the filter restriction is the first step. Cleaning the return duct comes after the system can actually move air through it again.
  • Evaporator coil contamination on Elite and Signature systems from year-round AC use in San Antonio. San Antonio runs air conditioning nearly twelve months a year. That means the evaporator coil on your Lennox system sees a lot of wet, warm air. Dust that bypasses the filter or sneaks in through small duct leaks ends up baked onto the coil. A coated evaporator coil reduces heat transfer, raises pressures, and makes the whole system work harder. We clean evaporator coils as part of our Lennox duct service because a clean coil and clean ducts are two halves of the same job.

Lennox Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

When a Lennox system needs parts, the question is always OEM versus aftermarket, and the honest answer depends on the part. For media filters, gaskets, and anything that seals against the cabinet, we prefer OEM Lennox-compatible parts. Fit matters there, and a slightly off gasket means a slightly leaky cabinet, and a leaky cabinet means dust bypassing the filter entirely. For flex duct, mastic, and takeoff collars, we go with commercial sheet-metal and R-8 flex from local San Antonio supply houses. Those materials are built for attic conditions, and they’re often better than what the original install used.

On repair versus replace, we take a simple position. If a Signature or Elite system has repeated blower contamination, we recommend sealing and rebalancing the ducts first. Replacing the blower only makes sense if amp draw or bearing wear confirms the blower itself is failing. A lot of contractors will sell you a new blower for a problem that was really a duct leak all along. We’d rather fix the leak. It costs less, and it actually solves the problem. If you’re not sure what your system needs, call (903) 354-8393 and we’ll diagnose it before quoting anything.

Our Lennox Service Process – Step by Step

Here’s how a Lennox duct cleaning and service visit works with us, from the first call to the final walkthrough.

  1. 1
Diagnosis and pressure mapping. Before anything gets cleaned, we walk the entire duct system with you. We check filter fit, takeoff collars, return drops, and any visible flex runs. On Lennox variable-speed systems, we take static pressure readings to see how the blower is actually performing. This tells us whether the problem is dirty ducts, a leak, a restriction, or some combination.
  2. 2
Sealing and correction first. If we find loose takeoffs, collapsed return drops, or unsealed seams, we fix those before we clean. Cleaning a leaking duct system is like mopping a floor with the faucet still running. The sealing work uses water-based mastic and R-8 flex from local supply houses, done to commercial standard.
  3. 3
Supply duct cleaning, evaporator coil cleaning, and return cleaning. We clean the supply ducts, the returns, and the evaporator coil where accessible. Our equipment includes Rotobrush and Nikro systems, with HEPA filtration where the job calls for it. The crew runs tools that are quieter than what a lot of San Antonio homeowners expect, which matters if there’s a toddler napping or a dog who’s already nervous about the noise.
  4. 4
Testing and verification. After cleaning and sealing, we re-check static pressure and airflow. On a system like an XC25 or XP25, the difference shows up in the numbers. We show you the before and after readings. We also take photos of the cleaned ducts so you can see what was done.
  5. 5
Warranty and follow-up. Every job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If something isn’t right, we make it right. That promise is stamped on the work, not offered as an option when you call back unhappy.

Lennox Products We Service & Install in San Antonio

We work on the full spread of Lennox residential equipment across San Antonio and nearby communities, including Schertz Lennox service. The Dave Lennox Signature Collection includes the XC25 and XP25 variable-capacity units, the top of Lennox’s residential line. The Elite Series covers the XC16, XC20, and EL296V, systems we see regularly in San Antonio homes built from the 1990s onward. The Merit Series, including the ML180, ML193, 13ACX, and 14ACX, is common in older ranch homes and entry-level new construction. We also handle the Signature SLP98V and SL280V furnaces. Our focus is always on the air-moving side: duct sealing, evaporator coil cleaning, and supply duct cleaning. That’s where the system’s performance lives or dies.

We Also Service These Brands

We’re not tied to one manufacturer. Alongside Lennox, we service Trane and Carrier systems across San Antonio. The ductwork doesn’t care what brand the equipment is, and neither do we. What matters is that the system moves the right amount of air, stays clean, and keeps the house comfortable without surprises on the invoice.
